Translators and interpreters are indispensable to any peace talk, bilateral visit or international organisation meeting. From the UN to each country's state department, the foreign policy field requires thousands of interpreters. Thanks to the many language and translation degrees available in universities, there is a clear pathway to becoming a translator. In this field, membership of a professional organisation such as the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, can help gain more recognition.
