Lucie Goulet Women in Foreign Policy

Women in Foreign Policy is Lucie Goulet’s concrete answer to the issue of the foreign policy workforce being more pale, male and stale than the average population. In 2014, she developed the visionary idea to launch this platform featuring in-depth professional profiles, to provide young women planning a foreign policy career with easy-to-access and relatable role models and professional development resources.

Lucie harnessed her digital marketing skills, honed in the luxury fashion industry, with her foreign policy knowledge and her expertise in workplace Diversity & Inclusion to create a digital platform that immediately became the number one source of information for women of all backgrounds looking to break into and succeed in foreign policy at large.

In the last five years, what started as a digital resource has grown into a dynamic, real-life community that includes a podcast, bi-monthly newsletter, active social media platforms, as well as off-line events in Europe and North America.

Recognized for her work in gender equality, she has been honoured on the Yahoo Finance! HERoes Top 50 Future Women Leaders 2019 and the 2017 Natwest WISE 100 Entrepreneurs list. She’s been featured in publications including OpenCanada and the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy. In addition, Lucie has delivered career-boosting workshops to the women of the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office and to University of London and York young professionals.

Women in Foreign Policy is a side hustle for Lucie who works full-time directing projects and consulting at The Inclusive Branding Agency, a London-based marketing, branding and communications agency that helps clients become more representative of contemporary society through their internal and external communications priorities. She works with equality-advancing companies including Levin Sources, a female-run mining consultancy and Kahn Gallery, a contemporary art gallery representing a majority of women artists.
