Raised in the UK and of Pakistani origin, Sara is currently based in London and is the Women in Foreign Policy Newsletter Manager.
She is undertaking an MSc in Human Rights at LSE, after previously completing a BA in International Relations. Sara is also a current volunteer at the United Nations Association in London, and has volunteered at Amnesty International UK in the past.
Her role is to manage the team that writes and publishes the bi-weekly Women in Foreign Policy newsletter. Because of her academic background and past work and volunteering experiences, she feels strongly that many of the human rights issues in the world today can be either caused or prevented by foreign policy endeavours. She believes that having representative, intersectional and informed women at the heart of policy making could have a transformative impact on the way that we do foreign policy. Through her work, she hopes to make the newsletter content relevant and accessible to women from all backgrounds, and provide them with an insight to what being a women in the field of foreign policy is like.
